Support for Communities
Last year, ASPE was proud to host our First Annual Science fair at Alleyway in Gwanggyo. This was a way for our students to not only showcase what they have learned but also to reach out and open dialogue with the community by inviting them to be a part of it.
Given the challenges of the current environment, we do our best to still be involved within our community while keeping our students and their families safe.
This year, we are hoping to further our outreach through the student development of an urban garden, which could provide fresh produce to select local shelters and charities.
We are using the space on the roof of the SPJ building to create an urban garden. Through the care of our 3rd grade Sensory Play class, they are growing a variety of plants for use in the cafeteria and to local charities.
As it continues to develop we hope to expand the garden to allow more variety of fruits and vegetables as well as involve more classes to allow a sense of community and service.
